“国庆”一词，本指国家喜庆之事，最早见于西晋。西晋的文学家陆机在《五等诸侯论》一文中就曾有“国庆独飨其利，主忧莫与其害”的记载。在中国古代，皇帝的即位和生日被称为“国庆”。如今，国庆节通常是这个国家的独立、宪法的签署、元首诞辰或其他有重大纪念意义的周年纪念日。我国的国庆节是每年的10月1日。
国庆节的来历
After more than one hundred years of heroic struggle, the Chinese people have won a great victory. On October 1, 1949, the founding ceremony was held in Tian 'anmen Square.Later, the government stipulated that the National Day is on October 1 every year.
中国人民经过一百多年的英勇奋战，取得了伟大胜利。1949年10月1日，在天安门广场举行了开国盛典。后来政府规定国庆节为每年的10月1日。
国庆节的习俗
1、During the National Day, public places such as companies and schools will hang lanterns or banners, potted plants with slogans are placed in parks, and small red flags are on the streets.
国庆节期间，公司学校等公共场所都会挂灯笼或横幅，公园里摆放着标语字样的盆栽，街道上都是小红旗。
2、The National Day of our country has a 7-day holiday, which is called "National Day Golden Week".
我国国庆节有7天的假期，被称之为“国庆黄金周”。
3、Since 2012, private cars have been allowed to pass free of charge on highways during National Day.
国家自2012年起，国庆期间的高速公路向私家车免费通行。
4、Many people will go to Tian 'anmen Square to see the flag raised to show their love for China.
许多人会到天安门广场看升旗，以表达对祖国的爱。
