no more和no longer的区别

no longer这个词组强调的“不再”是指时间上不再延续，通常与延续性动词连用。等同于词组 not any longer；no more这个词组强调的“不再”是指数量和程度上不再增加，一般与非延续性动词连用。

no more和no longer的区别有哪些

一、指代不同

1、no more：也不。

2、no longer：不再。

二、语法不同

1、no more：后可接数词,表示在数量上“超过”某种程度,此时可接含有can的从句,表示否定; 也可接形容词、副词或动词,表示程度,意为“非常”。

2、no longer：其基本意思是“长久地”,主要用于修饰静态动词,表示时间延续之长。

三、侧重点不同

1、no more：no more/not…any more与no longer/not…anylonger同义。

2、no longer：no longer意为不再，通常放在行为动词前，be动词的后面。

no more和no longer的用法

no more 和 not any more 可以彼此互换，意思是“不再......”，no longer 和 not any longer 也可以彼此替换，意思也是“不再......”，但 no more 偏重于指程度，no longer 偏重于指时间。
1. 表示程度，可以用 no more、not ... any more 比如：
I wantnomorecakes.
= Idon'twantanymorecakes. 我不想再要蛋糕了。
I am so tired that Icanwalknomore.
我太累了，一点也走不动了。这一句还可以说成：I am so tired that Ican'twalkanymore.

另外，no more 还有“仅仅、只不过的意思”，比如：Money is no more than our servant. 金钱不过是我们的仆人。这个时候，如果替换not any more 意义就变了：Money isn't our servant any more. --- 金钱已经不再是我们的仆人

2. 表示时间上不再延续，可以用 no longer、也可以用 not...any more、not...any longer，例如：
He no longer lives here. 他不再住这儿。
= He doesn't live here anylonger.
= He doesn't live here anymore.
He smoked no more. 他不再抽烟。
= He didn't smoke anymore.
= He didn't smokeanylonger.
3. 注意 no longer 的位置：只能放在谓语动词之前，如果有助动词的话，放在助动词和实动词之间。

I no long live with my parents. 我已不再和父母住在一起。
I will no longer live with my parents. 我将不会在和父母住在一起。
