morning是早上7点到11点29分。morning的基本意思是“破晓，黎明，早晨，上午”，通常指从太阳升起到正午的这段时间。引申还可表示“初期，早期”。在美式英语中，morning的复数形式mornings可用作状语，意思是“每天早晨，每天上午”，也可表示“在上午”。
morning可与noon，night连用，直接用作状语，用以修饰一段时间内有习惯性或重复性的动作。表示某段时间前用in，如：in the morning指在早上，不具体只哪一天早上。具体某一天前用on，如：on Sunday morning星期天上午。
